Provenance
Grown, cut and split at Ballinafagh Farm
This firewood does not come from a wholesaler. It is thinned from the forestry on Tom Tierney's family farm in Prosperous, County Kildare, then cut and split on the same ground, so you can go and look at where it grew.
Conservation agriculture
No-till tillage since 2014, with hedgerows, compost and soil health managed alongside the crop.
Continuous cover forestry
Planted from 2000 and thinned selectively, so the canopy is never cleared.
Recognised work
Tom won the biodiversity category of the Teagasc FBD Environmental Sustainability Awards in 2025.
